Hyundai Alcazar Vs Mahindra XUV 500

In India, the Hyundai Alcazar SUV made its world debut. The SUV will be available in six and seven-seat configurations, with two engine choices (petrol and diesel). In the coming weeks, the model is expected to reach showrooms. It will compete

against the MG Hector Plus, Mahindra XUV500, and the latest Tata Safari once it is released. Here’s a fast engine specs comparison between the upcoming Hyundai Alcazar and Mahindra XUV 500.

1.Petrol Engine

The new Hyundai 7-seater SUV is a larger and more premium Creta. Its platform and other design elements and components are shared with its 5-seater sibling. Alcazar, on the other hand, has a different engine configuration than the Creta. The automaker has announced that its latest three-row SUV will be powered by a 2.0L four-cylinder petrol engine with 152 horsepower and 192Nm of torque. It’s the same engine that powers the Elantra sedan and the Tucson SUV. The petrol version is said to go from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in under ten seconds.

The current generation Mahindra XUV500 doesn’t come with a petrol engine. The SUV will soon enter into its next generation with comprehensive design and feature upgrades along with a new and more powerful engine setup. The 2021 XUV500 is reported to use a 190bhp, 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbo petrol motor that will make it the most powerful petrol SUV in its segment.

2.Diesel Engine :

A 1.5L turbo engine from the Hyundai Creta will be used in the diesel variant of the Hyundai Alcazar. The oil burner, on the other hand, would be calibrated to generate more power. The Creta diesel produces 113bhp and torque of 250Nm. Eco, City, and Sport will be the three driving modes available on the SUV.

The XUV500 employs a 2.2L diesel engine under the hood. The oil burner generates a peak power of 155bhp and 360Nm of torque. Compared to Alcazar diesel, the XUV500 is more powerful. Its next-generation model will receive a more powerful 180bhp, 2.2L mHawk turbo engine.

3.Gearbox Options

— The Hyundai Alacazar is available with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission with both engines.

— Meanwhile, a new 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox is expected to be available on the Mahindra XUV500 in 2021.

4.Mileage

— Although the mileage figures haven’t been released, the carmaker has stated that the diesel version will have the best fuel efficiency in the segment for both manual and automatic transmissions.

— The current-generation Mahindra XUV500 with a diesel engine is said to get 15.1 kilometres per gallon (with both manual and automatic gearboxes).

5.Seating Capacity :

— The Hyundai Alcazar will be available in six- and seven-seater versions. The Mahindra XUV500, on the other hand, is a 7-seater vehicle.

6.Features :

— The Hyundai Alcazar has a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats, a semi-digital instrument cluster, and wireless charging. A larger digital instrument cluster will also be added to Hyundai’s three-row SUV.

— The XUV500, on the other hand, comes standard with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as a 6-way customizable driver seat, a sunroof, and cruise control.

7.Safety Features :

— Multiple airbags, a rear parking camera, and front and rear parking sensors could be included in the Hyundai Alcazar Safety Package.

— Dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors are standard safety features on the Mahindra XUV500.

8.Price

— The Hyundai Alcazar, a three-row SUV, is expected to cost between Rs 13 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).

— The price of a Mahindra XUV500 ranges from 13.83 lakh to 19.10 lakh. The XUV500’s Diesel variant costs between 13.83 and 19.10 lakh rupees.

I attempted to compare and contrast both SUV models using all the technical specifications available. It is entirely up to you to select the better of the two options. Make the best choice!!
